The Strider SMF was the knife adapted by the newly created MARSOC (MARine Special Operations Command).  The first 150 hand picked warriors for that unit all carry Strider blades which is a real testament to the reputation Strider has earned.   The SOCOM order has been filled and the boys are now producing a sterile version with no military markings at a much lower price than the commemorative civilian marked version.  The current "sterile SMF" folders are slightly larger than their smaller brother, the SnG.
