The latest addition to the Hinderer knife, pen, and tool line is a really slick offshoot of the modular Kubaton pen which is one of the most popular defensive tools in recent history. 

Like the Kubaton version, this latest addition to the hinderer pen line is constructed of aluminum and incorporates the latest CNC and CAD/CAM technology that Rick's customers have become accustomed to.  The body of the pen has a slip resistant grip surface and features a one piece body with refillable Fisher Space Pen ink cartridge.  

The concept behind this new pen is that it doesn't have the holes in the body of the pen for attaching cord to, which has occasionally raised some eyebrows at security checkpoints as a "koppo stick".  This one really is "just a pen" although it could also obviously be used as a devastating defensive tool.  In that regard you can replace the standard pen cap holder on the back of the pen with any of the standard Kubaton pen attachments.
