Today, the modern military force may need more than one version of the same piece of equipment to satisfy different requirements. Titanium was selected for the blade based on the unique combination of properties inherent to the metal. Same as the original MPK, only smaller and more versatile, the MPK-10 is a heavy-duty, lightweight knife that was designed to be worn on the leg or hip of US Navy SEAL's, with the famous dual lock system of a snap and rubber D-ring on the hytrel sheath.

These knives are immune to salt water and almost any other chemical attack, so they do not need cleaning.
